WSGT’s new Travel Writing Award: Finding Freedom

Screen Shot 2016-04-24 at 12.17.02 PMIf you haven’t heard the big news yet: Starting May 4th, our contests will be no more and in their place will be a brand new award! Wanderlusters, nomads-in-training, aspiring travel writers and those looking to share a special moment are all encouraged to enter! The simple act of putting a pen to the paper (or fingers to keyboard) can be a freeing act especially re-counting a tale that involved bravery, courage and overcoming fears.

WSGT’s new Travel Award theme will be “finding freedom;” something that kept you going when you thought you couldn’t take another step or you didn’t know where the next step would take you.

In our lives we may face a crossroads where we have to stop and say to ourselves: “I really have no idea what is happening next. I’ve come to this point in my life, and I believe that from today, I have to start again completely. I have to start from zero…It’s not easy, being in this world. Picking yourself up, getting yourself together, time after time…But what else can you do, right? If you keep getting up, sooner or later something or someone is going to show the reason why it’s worth keeping on trying.” Share a tale of your travels where we can learn about how your overcame your fears and followed your dreams. It can be when you traveled far from home or happened in your own backyard.

Watch Lisa’s own personal tale of finding freedom; we can all live the life we want if we keep going:

The We Said Go Travel community is waiting to hear your tale that inspires us. Thank you for your participation!

Watch out for announcements and deadlines through WSGT’s blog, Facebook, and Twitter.
