WSGT’s new Travel Writing Award July 4, 2016

We’ve been busy promo’ing our new Independence Writing Award! It’s been shared via Johnny Jet’s Contest Round-up, USA Today’s Best Current Travel Contests, and through institutions like the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University’s Writers’ Studio and Vancouver School if Writing! It will run from May 4th to July 4th with plenty of cash prizes and publication opportunities to be won! The theme is “Finding Freedom” and we have two new judges. Check it out!

Hourglass Literary Magazine Writing Contest May 31, 2016

The international competition is open to all authors writing in English or any of the BCMS languages. No theme, genre limitations or boundaries. Work must be original and unpublished. One author can compete in all categories, for all three awards respectively.

Best Short Story ($1,000)
Best Poem ($1,000)
Best Essay ($1,000)

Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition June 1, 2016

There’s still some time to enter the 85th Annual Writing Competition for your chance to win and have your work be seen by editors and agents! 501 winners will be chosen.The top winning entries of this writing contest will also be on display in the 85th Annual Writer’s Digest Competition Collection.

Pink Pangea’s Writing and Touring Retreat in Barcelona August 10-14

Pink Pangea’s writing and touring retreat in Barcelona “brings together a women from all over the world who want to process their experiences in an awe-inspiring environment.” Included is four-nights accommodation and daily writing as well as meditation workshops in an intimate setting.

Student Travel Writer Competition April 30-June

This contest is judged by industry insiders and travel writing experts. Students have the chance to grab the attention of travel mags, tourism boards and other travel professionals by sharing their personal travel content. Five finalists will be selected and sent on specific travel assignments in July and August with winner and runner-up announced in September.
