We are very lucky at WSGT to have talented individuals participate in our contests and most recently, the Travel Writing Award. To say thanks, we will be featuring five contributing writers each week who are currently displaying the WSGT Travel Badge. Our next Gratitude Travel Writing Award opens September 11, 2016. We hope you will share your story in our next competition.
“I decided to participate in the award because I believe in the mission of “WeSaidGoTravel” and I am very passionate about traveling and encouraging others to travel. As a writer I hope to create good content that will inspire others to learn more about themselves and other cultures and in order to create their own path of success.”
Favorite place: My favorite place to travel to is Costa Rica. Costa Rica is the first place I traveled when I decided to leave my hometown. I have visited, Heredia, Limon, Puerto Viejo, and San Jose. This country is the reason why I make every day a stress-free day.
“Reason why I chose to participate in the award AND what I hope to achieve as a writer is to evoke gratitude and compassion towards the intangible sensory experiences that travel in particular and life in general affords for us.”
Favorite place: I find water bodies very comforting and relaxing. Perhaps that’s got to do with having lived closed to the coast throughout my life. So whether it’s the beach or a pond, that’s where I find myself recharging most optimally.
“What I hope to achieve as a writer is to inspire seniors and boomers to get off the cruise ships and out of the resorts and rediscover their sense of adventure and transform their lives.”
Favorite place: At home in [Los Angeles], especially after a long trip to some exotic and challenging place, on my sofa at 6 am with the LA Times and a pot of coffee. As much as I like to travel, there is no place like home.
“I participated in the award because I wanted to promote the Philippines as a preferred destination to your readers and/or followers. I started writing my travel blog because my goal is to promote the local traveling among fellow Filipinos.”
“Well the reason why I like participating with this kind of activity is to get an opportunity to improve my skills in travel writing and to share my experiences at the same time. I also wanted to see if writing may take me living the life of travel which I have always wanted.”
Thank you to all of our talented participants! WSGT wouldn’t be the same with you! Check back next week for another group of writer profiles! Read Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
