Hotel Maya is the place to stay in Long Beach, California!

I went to Long Beach, California in May for my first SCUBA Show. I researched where to stay and was delighted to be invited to stay at the Hotel Maya, a Doubletree Hotel and part of the Hilton Hotel family. My room was spacious and had wood floors. It was really pretty, very large and had an incredible view of the water. I enjoyed sitting on my balcony and I loved taking my s’mores kit to one of the seven fire pits around the property. There were games to play, quiet nooks to sit in and a lovely pool.

One of the best things for me was I could park my car and walk to all my Long Beach activities. I walked to the Aquarium of the Pacific for the nighttime event. I walked to the Long Beach Convention Center for the Scuba show. There were many other options, I could have taken a water taxi, the red shuttle, borrowed a bike or driven my car. I really like to walk and it was gorgeous out.

I ate at Fuego, the restaurant on the property, and loved the food, the flavors and especially sitting outside on the patio. If you are nearby, eat at Fuego and you can have four hours of validated parking for $2. That might be the best parking deal in all of Los Angeles County!

Hotel maya Doubletree Long BeachIf you like boats, this hotel will be perfect for you. They have kayaks on property, it is literally next door to the Queen Mary and just a few blocks from the Carnival Cruise Ship pier. If you have to pick someone up or drop them off for a cruise, definitely stop by for a drink but preferably stay overnight!

If you need a staycation this summer, plan your drive time carefully and Long Beach is only one hour by car! I highly recommend it!
