Video: Suprising Surat Thani, Thailand
Katun from Katun’s Guest House in Hua Hin suggested we take the train from Hua Hin to Surat Thani. We had a long journey of nearly twelve hours on the bus from Patong to Hua Hin, the week before so the train seemed like a smart choice. The train was delayed by nearly two hours so we chose to stay overnight in Surat Thani, Thailand. Second Class train tickets were $15usd and included lunch.
A-knot, a man who we met on the bus into town from the train station, walked with us to find a hotel. He shared his thoughts about how people should come to travel in Thailand. He welcomes you to come visit! We told him “Pop Goan Mi” or See you Later! The Phangan GuestHouse was convenient and also booked our bus and boat to Koh Samui. Our room had air conditioning and television for 400Baht (about $13usd).
We explored the famous Surat Thani Night Market and found a large crowd of locals on a Wednesday. Many items were available for 20Baht or less than one US dollar for Phad Thai and other food items like the Angry Birds fish cake. Many items looked “Aroy Mak Mak” or very tasty!
We planned to go to Koh Samui to meet Alex, Travel Fashion Girl, and the Travel Blogger ThinkTank.
This movie is from our month stay in Thailand (September 2012) and our year TRIP in South East Asia, see all the videos from our trip.
