How the Photo was Taken

This photo was taken with Nikon D7200 and 55mm lens.
Photo was shot raw and in high res and then put into lightroom. Some adjustments were made for contrasts and a dehaze was used.

Photo Location

I took this photo at Townshend State Park in Townshend, Vermont, USA. I always keep my camera on hand and right near the office this dragon fly happened to land, with an unobstructed view right near the contact station on a lilac branch. I raced inside to get the camera and was able to snap a few quick shots before it flew off again. To me this shot was about imaging if I had just flown across an ocean and this gorgeous insect landed right in front of me. I'd be like there's no way I want to miss this moment. I try to see things in my own back yard with just as much excitement as if I had traveled long distances.
