How the Photo was Taken

I took the photo using a DSLR camera. I also used Photoshop to crop the image and slightly adjust the contrast.

Photo Location

The photo was taken at Arkutino on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. It is the only place in the region where Sand Lilies grow. The flower is also called the Sand Queen, hence the title. Arkutino Natural Preserve cover a few square kilometers only and includes Bulgaria's largest sand dune area. By regulation the area should be safe from human influence but tourist traffic still generates a large amount of garbage. Sometimes people pick the flowers to use as decoration or to try and grow them somewhere else despite the law against it.
