How the Photo was Taken

Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T5i
Lens: Canon EFS 18-200mm
Aperture: f/8.0
Shutter Speed: 1/160
File Type Shot: RAW
Editing Process: For my photo editing, I use Lightroom. For this particular photo, I shot it RAW format so that when I went to edit it, I could make the mountains in the background pop out, while also lightening/slightly silhouetting the trees in the foreground to act as a frame. To do this, I slightly decreased the temperature of the photo, brought the highlights down far and the shadows up, and I slightly increased the whites while bringing down the blacks. When all was said and done, the photo was exported as a JPG file.

Photo Location

Being a landlocked Pyrenees nation, Andorra is full of breathtaking mountain views. During our recent holiday there we drove to the lookout point, "Mirador Roc Del Quer." This lookout is famous for having a viewing platform that extends off the mountainside, with a unique statue sitting at the very end. After driving up to this lookout point from the town of Canillo below, we began our walk to the lookout. While the views from the platform were amazing, I found the best spots to actually be on the trail there. This photo photo was taken on that trail. The photo overlooks the mountains and valley below, including Canillo as well as the other towns and villages to its north. Out of the many beautiful views Andorra has to offer, this may be one of our favorites!

About the Author

Cory Hurst

Since both picking up my first SLR camera and travelling international at age 16, I have been addicted to photographing this beautiful planet and people and animals that inhabit it. It is my belief that in order to fully understand and appreciate the world around us, we must have as much exposure to it as possible. This is what I want to do with my photography.
