GRATITUDE TO GOD IN NIGERIA

GRATITUDE TO GOD IN NIGERIA.

Few years ago, I planned a tour to the northern part of Nigeria, though I reside in the southern part of the country. I was warned by neighbours and some friends not to embark on the tour but I was tenacious embark on such itinerary. On the d-day, I had woke up earlier than ever before to catch up with the early morning bus. I place my small traveling bag in the front near the driver which implies at the bus stop that someone is going to sit on that sit of the bus. I went to purchase the ticket before the driver is going to request for it and before I came a very tall man but Giant ferried my bag to another sit inside the bus.

When I came, I started to shout and rant at him for the action he has done because he has no rationale for doing that. When the argument was about to turn to a fight, the driver and some the of the peace advocate separated us and settled everything. Therefore, they brought up a verdict that I should sit on another sit which is not convenient because the bus was even obsolete and at the same time not in good condition but in Nigeria they still manage such an eroding bus for transport due to the inadequate enforcement of law.

The journey eventually started and everyone was anticipating to arrive their various destination safely. Little do we known that it was an utopian-in-vain. It reaches a certain when the driver begins to over speed, so passengers didn’t hesitate to caution him but upon the clamouring of the passengers the driver didn’t ameliorate the speed of the bus. We stopped at a certain location in a city to re-freshen our self, while the recess was ongoing, the driver went to take some local alcoholic drinks which the passengers in the bus rejected to be sacrilegious. But with one faith we continue the journey. After some hours we all noticed the reckless driving of the driver due to the influence of the already drank alcohol but no one talk again because the driver seems to be choleric in nature. I was asleep again because the journey was boring and that was the last thing I could remember. The next I saw was that I was in a hospital and the Doctor were attending to me.

I tried to ask what has happened but no one answered me until a good Samaritan would salvage my life narrated how he rescued me from the fatal accident that happened between the bus conveying us and a faulty petrol tanker which was abandoned in the middle of the road. I was the only survival without even a wound. All other passenger died at the spot including the driver and the man that I had a quarrel with. Assuming I had sat on my initial sit, I would had became a victim. Should I be grateful to the driver and the peace advocate who settled the argument and told me to sit in another position? Should I be grateful to the man who insisted to sit at my initial position? Should I be grateful to the man who brought me tot he hospital?

But the man corrected me that all glory be to God who spared me life because of a purpose. Therefore, this is one of the brink I knew that I was most grateful: expressing my gratitude to God every time.
