I loved meeting Barbara Corcoran. I even got to go sit next to her onstage! She has made lemonade out of lemons many times and turned $1000 into millions of dollars.

Corcoran’s book, Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business,” is inspiring. At every turn or when things looked glum, she picked herself up, dusted herself off and figured out what to do next.
I hope you will share your story of finding freedom in my We Said Go Travel Writing Award. It closes on Independence Day July 4 and might be your way of shouting to the world that you are here and you are going to make it. I am claiming my freedom. I am divorced and I am going to figure out how to make my business successful just like Barbara Corcoran. I do not always know how it will work but I believe I am going to find a way. I appreciate everyone who has already supported me on my journey and look forward to whatever comes next.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from Barbara’s book:
“Opportunity does hide in the worst situations. Finding opportunity is a matter of believing it’s there.”
“I find that every big success happens after I think I’ve exhausted 100 percent of my options. For me, success happened only after I gave another 10 percent.”
to her mom: “All my life you never told me I couldn’t. You only told me I could.”
“Putting the extra effort into preparation results in extra rewards in the execution.”
“Good entrepreneurship is all about staying on the move. Every successful entrepreneur I work with expands before he’s ready. It’s the best formula I know for aggressive growth and the best way to become the market leader.”
“Being afraid to fail stops you from trying things in the first place. I learned after many failures that nobody’s watching and nobody gives a damn. If you want to build a successful business, you don’t have to get it right; you just have to get it going.”
“I look for the same three traits in every entrepreneur I choose to do business with: good character, lots of enthusiasm, and a genuine sense of thankfulness.”
Share your enthusiasm, your voice and your talent in my We Said Go Travel Writing Award!
Where do you want to go?
Maybe New York City like Barbara Corcoran? Italy like my recent trip? I am going next to the Dominican Republic.
