OlieloWSGT’s next Travel Influencers are Elodie and Olivier of Olielo Luxury Reviews, a website that makes the connection between travelers’ aspirations and destinations by providing unbiased reviews and articles.

1.)Where was the first place that you traveled that made you think WOW—travel is amazing (think history book come to life or …..)

Elodie: Got to the Great Lakes in Canada when I was in my 20s. Really enjoyed the wonderful landscapes!

Olivier: My first long trip was to Argentina and Brazil when I was 13 years old. I had the opportunity to discover Iguazu Falls. This is a place where the power of nature makes you feel so small. I will remember this trip forever!

2.)If you had unlimited resources, where would you go and what would you do?

We would go for a journey around the world to discover a lot of places we haven’t seen yet with a one week stop at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai!

3.)What were you afraid to do and how did you find the courage to overcome it?

Elodie is subject to vertigo but she managed to get up in the Burj Khalifa! It was eased by the fact that elevators are very fast there. It takes only 2 minutes to get to the top. And this is worth the effort when you see the sunset over middle east from the terrace at the top.

4.)What apps do you use regularly that make your life easier?

Uber to find a driver and Waze when we need to find the best route!

5.)What place do you wish more people have seen?

There are so many places in the world that are worth a visit. A lot of people aren’t traveling to those places due to prejudices. Here are some places that were really different than what we had expected and that we really enjoyed: Corsica (France), Las Vegas, Dubaï, South Africa, etc…

6.)Best advice you have been given and by whom?

Nelson Mandela: I never lose. Either I win or I learn.

This is so true! We are missing leaders like him in the current days…

7.)When were you surprised by the kindness of strangers on a trip?

In all the trips we have made, we never felt like we weren’t welcome. People in Africa are so kind. You can feel it directly in their attitude (went to South Africa and Senegal). Even if they don’t have much to give, they will do their best to give you more. People in Middle East are also really kind. Then, had an amazing experience in Dallas (Texas)! We were so sad when we had left Dallas, so many nice people there!

8.)What inspired you to travel for extended periods of time or live in a new country?

We have never lived in another country. We traveled for few weeks in some countries. This is an interesting experience as you quickly adapt your lifestyle to the local habits. You learn a lot of things and this is usually a refreshing experience.

9.)I travel because….

This is the only expense that makes you richer!

Olielo

Behind Olielo, there is a couple, Elodie and Olivier! Olielo is the result of the encounter of two talents in the luxury marketing and the IT areas. Our joint passion for travels and excellence led us to create Olielo where we are pleased to share our journey around the world.

Olielo was created based on the idea that the current offering of hotels and destinations makes it challenging for travelers to select the right hotel and the right destination for them. On the other hand, it is also very difficult for hotels and destinations to reach their target audience.

So Olielo makes the connection between both the traveler’s aspirations and the hotels/destinations offering by providing unbiased reviews and articles on key hotels and destinations. With Olielo, travelers get the best available view on what they will get if they travel to a place and stay in a hotel. Then, hotels and destinations are able to reach qualified audience.

Olielo is the only website of this kind fully translated in English and French. No other website offers detailed reports, news and posts in both languages.
