1.)Where was the first place that you traveled that made you think WOW—travel is amazing (think history book come to life or …..)
Paris. 1995. It was my first time ever in Europe and it hit me like a ton of bricks. The history, the feeling in the air. Yes, the joie de vivre. I was in awe of the architecture and the history all around me. I loved it.
2.)If you had unlimited resources, where would you go and what would you do?
If I had unlimited resources, I would start buying real estate in some of my favorite cities — New York, Chicago, London, Paris and somewhere in a hill town in Italy.
4.)What apps do you use regularly that make your life easier?
I use Google Maps nearly every day. Also Podcast Republic to listen to during my runs.
5.)What place do you wish more people have seen?
I just want people (especially Americans) to travel outside of their own country more. And to make sure they meet locals everywhere they go.
6.)Best advice you have been given and by whom?
I have been doing this so long, I have my own advice:
To slow down and travel slower.
To meet and connect with locals as much as possible.
To travel alone. It’s the best thing I have ever done.
7.)When were you surprised by the kindness of strangers on a trip?
Every. Single. Trip. From Turkey to Slovenia to Buenos Aires to New York City, people have welcomed me, helped me, and become my friends!
The desire to do something big, to challenge myself and grab life by the balls and see the world!
9.)I travel because….
it makes me feel alive. It allows me to keep learning, keep being curious, and keep intersecting with others.
